University president reflects on deaths of 3 meteorology students storm-chasing in Kansas

NORMAN, Okla. (KOKH) — University of Oklahoma President Joseph Harroz Jr. issued remarks on Sunday in the wake of the deaths of three meteorology students. Nicholas Nair, 20, Gavin Short, 19, and Drake Brooks, 22, died in a car wreck on Friday night after hydroplaning on southbound I-35 near the Kansas border. According to the Oklahoma Department of Public Safety, they were headed back from storm-chasing in Kansas earlier Friday night.
